Fall Groundwork Lessons!

October 11, 2016

Join us for our next Groundwork Session starting October 23!
Groundwork classes focus on the study of horse behavior and body language to improve your horsemanship through communication and understanding of the horse. Classes use natural horsemanship training techniques for the ultimate goal of developing a calmer, more trusting and more willing partner in your horse. Horses are taught in a relaxed, well-organized environment with small class sizes. Students will work in pairs with assigned Longmeadow horses, supervised at all times by the instructor.

This class is designed to teach you how to communicate with horses of varying ages, breeds, temperaments and skill levels. During this four-week session, you will be introduced to cues such as: applying and releasing pressure, flexing (laterally and vertically), establishing leadership with your horse, leading a horse calmly and willingly, backing, haltering a horse without resistance, approaching a horse correctly in the stall, and more. This class is required for both Intermediate and Advanced Groundwork Classes.
