Cisco & Delicada

Cisco and Delicada came to Longmeadow at different times but now follow the same path.

Cisco came to Longmeadow in 2016. He was owned by a rescue that fell on hard times and surrendered all of their equine to Longmeadow. He was then used lightly in our riding lesson program. He spent about seven years in our lesson program and was a perfect horse for our beginner riders – he was a slow and comfortable ride and loved attention from the lesson children. Cisco’s beautiful features and calm demeanor made him a favorite among our staff and volunteers. After those seven wonderful years in our lesson program, we decided to retire him so that he could have a family of his own. And he found one with Delicada!

Delicada’s story started with us in November 2022. She came to Longmeadow as part of rescue with other equine, all suffering from neglect. After her rehabilitation, she was evaluated by our trainer and surprised us all by showing experience under saddle! She was ridden inside and outside, could neck rein, and had a smooth gait. She was a beautiful mover, and it didn’t take long for someone to find her!

Now, Delicada and Cisco get to live out the rest of their lives with a family that will love them and give them the love they deserve. We will miss them, but we are so happy that their stories continue together!
